Dr. Steven Fletcher is an associate professor of secondary education at St. Edward's University in Austin TX. He has structured his career around supporting beginning teachers as they transition from preservice to induction in the classroom. He is a social constructivist who built the secondary field-based teacher preparation program at SEU to give students early field experiences and authentic training in working schools. His teaching reflects contemporary research in what it means to learn and his courses challenge students to think critically, act with a social conscience and use innovative technology appropriately.
